Graduation season is upon us and we are ALL about the celebration! You have worked hard to come to this day! This time of year always brings out the nostalgia for me as well as the stark reminder that it has been a few years since I’ve graduated. {ahem 25 years}
When it came time to host my grad party all those years ago I remember considering all of the ways we could save money and time by renting. For my family, that meant renting out a bank basement to hold the party and purchase all of the platters and tablecloths needed for the party to look polished. It was around this time that I was also learning all about antiques and flowers and I had a vision for what I wanted my party to look like. With these foundational pieces it was easier to select florals and accessories that pulled the whole look together. Grad parties are typically from Mid May through June but that’s not to say you cannot select a theme and embrace it, no matter what the season.

Grad parties are all about celebrating your life, the success, and the support from friends, family and the school alike! People love the opportunity to look back at all of the teams, clubs and trips that have brought you this far. There is nothing more fun than reminiscing over the basketball camp from 4th grade or the very first dance recital. It’s time to drag out the photo albums, 8×10’s, and artwork to pull together the personalized side of decor. And if you are struggling to figure out a color scheme? Follow the age old tradition of using the school colors. Can we all agree we have a neighbor with orange and black napkins hanging around?
Another option for customization is allowing the food selection to guide your decor theme. It’s fun to pick your favorite food and dessert and select decor to play up your favorites. Who doesn’t love BBQ, Pizza, or Ice Cream? Pull together a “cafe” look and serve slices of pizza, rent an ice-cream machine and decorate with bistro tables and pastels, for a downhome BBQ use handkerchiefs as the centerpieces and pull in some western decor like galvanized and wood accents. That is just a glimpse into the wide range of options available to meet your style.

Grand total for rental= $200-$350 depending on number of tablecloths and centerpieces needed.
