Welcome to all of you lovely local fans! We truly love being a part of the community of Waukon, Iowa. When agreeing to join in the fun for Ladies Night in the party room at Uptown Grill on April 11, 2024, we had intentions of showcasing the products we have for rent. We thought it might be fun to set up a graduation table, complete with snacks to show off the items we have for you to rent for your next event. So, we made snack mix and mini cupcakes and offered them as a little token of thanks to the ladies that attended. Looking right past the rental items, many of you have been asking about the snacks themselves! We laughed last night when talking to our family, that we set up at the event to show rental options of cupcake stands and it turns out the people want the FOOD!

While we love baking pies, cakes, cookies, and breads we had been focusing on renting the things to complete your party, wedding or event. This leaves us scratching our heads, is there a need for rentals? We absolutely believe there is. Being a part of a community that works hard, plans ahead, and parties hard we know that you all have went ahead with life, making your own way to bring events to life even when there was a gap in the community for rental items.
We are grateful that you are all go-getters and roll-with-the-punches-of-life type of people. And you know what? We are the very same way! We spent months joking and considering how to utilize the million decor items we personally owned and really began to become more serious about making it a business when a beloved local business announced the closing of their chapter in Waukon. Yet, we didn’t want to rush something that wasn’t meant to be. So, we went on with life and continued to dream at the same time.
Finally, in November we began to prepare for the auction that the local business would be selling out at. Spending time combing through we decided exactly what we would like to purchase to add to our collection that we had already started. Let me tell you, auctions are so much fun but absolutely a gamble! You just don’t know what you will get until it’s the moment you have to decide. We were able to get quite a few items including white tablecloths, votive holders and runners. Yet, we weren’t done. We wanted to pass the best prices on to our clients so we didn’t overpay on any of our auction pieces we were interested in. So, we continued to watch for the best deals we could find.
Over the winter we spent time organizing everything we had, finding new items, photographing, pricing and finally putting them onto this website that we also created on our own time. Little by little we could see our vision coming forward. Preparing for several local wedding shows we joined in and made our setup to show a variety of items that we have now found and offer for rent. Yet, we found that the wedding market feels quiet. Trying to analyze why this feels different than we anticipated we are keeping an open mind. To add to the confusion we had crazy amazing results with the Bakers Market and Ladies Night, which both showcased our baking, sort of by accident.

So now, we’ve had people inquiring, “Do you sell your baked goods?!” Honestly, we both really enjoy baking and always have! We don’t hesitate to bake a pie, a cake, or cookies for any close friends and family. And both enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the Bakers Market. Yet, we hesitate to heartily say YES to making that a part of our business. And by the way, we both have family with demands, personal sanity to guard, a farm to help on and a church we enjoy being available for. Oh, and Robyn also works full time! So where do we go with all of this? Only time will tell. We aren’t adding the baking to the business at this very moment. We are taking time to let everything develop in it’s own time. So, in the meantime, enjoy the treats when we do happen to offer them and stay posted for all of your rental needs!
